Are You Embarrassed to Be a Painter?

Hey, guys. It’s Brandon Lewis here, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, completely pumped and excited. I’m leaving the 2018 Painting Profits Summit, and there are three things that you need to know about the painting industry, that you may not believe. Number one, there is absolutely, positively nothing with our painting industry. This weekend, I was surrounded by businesses, anywhere from seventeen million dollars down to start-ups, people making over a million dollars a year in our industry, plus, people that are small but profitable, people that are changing lives, enriching people all over their communities. People feel like, if they’re not successful that there is a problem with the industry. I’m here to tell you that our industry, for those that are entrepreneurial, is alive and well.

Number two, I want you to know that every single solitary painting business problem has already been solved. As I sat in the Hulk group, which won’t mean much to you if you weren’t there, I saw that each person was struggling with a different issue. However, every individual in that room had solved that problem. By that I mean, someone may struggle with recruitment, but a third of the room had fixed the problem. A half may struggle with sales, but a half of the room had fixed the problem. You see, we don’t have any problems that are new in the painting industry. What we need to do, as owners, is make certain that we are getting the resources we need, so that we’re not reinventing the wheel, and so that we gather the expertise of other owners, and we make sure that we get the resources we need.

Finally, I’m going to tell you something that I hope you believe, and that is, you should be damned proud to be a painter in the painting industry. As I sat, surrounded by these caring, awesome people, I was inspired. I was motivated. I was called out to achieve greater things. There’s nothing in the world that can impress me more, than what I saw this weekend, surrounded by people who are trying their best to achieve their dreams. I am proud of them. I’m glad to be in our industry. I’m glad to be associated with people like you. If you put your head down when people ask you what you do? Don’t do that. Stand proud. Put your shoulders back, and tell them. I’m an entrepreneur in the painting industry. The more you do it and the longer you do it, the more it will become a reality.

I’m Brandon Lewis, with Painter’s Weekly and the Painter’s Academy, saying you should be proud to be in the painting industry. More to follow about the 2018 Painting Profits Summit. Take care.
